Marcelis Morris is an Associate Attorney at The Cochran Firm – California, where he vigorously fights for his clients in civil litigation matters including civil rights, personal injury, wrongful death, and premises liability.
Prior to joining The Cochran Firm – California, Marcelis represented Plaintiffs in complex civil litigation matters in California and Arizona involving toxic exposures, products liability, wrongful death, premises liability, and healthcare fraud.
No matter the case, Marcelis’ determination and resolve have helped him to obtain justice for his clients.
When he is not fighting for his clients, Marcelis spends time contributing to the legal community and mentoring law students. Marcelis received his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. While at Loyola Law School, Marcelis was selected as a member of the nationally recognized Byrne Trial Advocacy Team. He also participated in Loyola’s Civil Litigation Practicum, and the William C. Hobbs Trial Advocacy Program. While at Loyola, Marcelis also received the prestigious Gary M. Paul Scholarship and was admitted into the St. Thomas More Law Honor Society. Marcelis received his Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Riverside, in Business Administration.
Marcelis has been recognized by a number of organizations for his excellence in the practice of law, and his overall success in achieving results for his clients. In 2017 and 2018, Marcelis was honored as one of The National Black Lawyers’ Top 40 Under 40 attorneys. In 2018, Marcelis was recognized for excellence in his practice by being named to the California Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor. Super Lawyers honors lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. In 2018, Marcelis was also selected as a Top 40 Under 40 lawyer by The National Trial Lawyers.
